Stela Baltova, Minister of TourismAssoc. Prof. Dr. Stella Baltova is the new Minister of Tourism in the sixth ex officio government with Prime Minister Stefan Yanev. She is a Bulgarian economist and expert, diplomat and politician and before that, Minister of Tourism in the fifth Bulgarian ex officio government with Prime Minister Prof. Ognyan Gerdzhikov, formed by President Rumen Radev in the period January 27th – May 4th, 2017.

Stella Baltova is born in the city of Yambol. She completed her secondary education at a High School teaching French “Zahari Stoyanov”- city of Sliven.

She graduated from the University of Chemical Technology and Metallurgy, Sofia and she specialized at the University of Northern Alsace, France. She has a master`s degree in Digital Marketing.

She has various business qualifications from European and world institutions.

In the period 2002-2005 she was in diplomatic job as Head of the Office for Trade and Economic Affairs in Copenhagen, Denmark, where she was responsible for attracting foreign investment, promoting Bulgaria as a tourist destination, export promotion. Later, she worked in the Foreign Economic Policy Directorate of the Ministry of Economy and Energy.

In 2007-2009 she was Deputy Chairman of the State Tourism Agency. She is the coordinator of the Medium-Term National Framework Investment Programme in Tourism. Mrs. Baltova leads and participates in projects in the field of national marketing and tourism management (2008-2019). National expert in international organizations in the field of platform economy, indices for digital readiness in lifelong learning, skills for smart cities.

Due to her expert skills and extensive experience, in 2017 she was invited to serve as an Ex Officio Minister of Tourism in the government of Prof. Dr. Ognyan Gerdzhikov.

Dr. Stella Baltova is an Associate Professor of Business Services Economics (2014). She teaches in Master`s Programme – Tourism Management, Event Management, Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the International Business School – Botevgrad. She is the director of the Center for Continuing Education in High School.
