Bulgaria receives tourists from 35 countries without quarantine, flights are operated according to airport schedules

23 June 2020

Hotels and restaurants in the country work according to the rules of global health and hygiene protocols

From June 1, our country receives tourists from 29 countries through all its border checkpoints, and from June 20 the countries are already 35. Visitors arriving from those countries do not undergo a 14-day quarantine. In response to a publication in the Belgian media, which claims that all flights to Bulgaria have been canceled, the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria states that this does not correspond to the truth. Flights to and from Bulgaria are operated according to airport schedules.

The Bulgarian Black Sea coast is barely affected by COVID-19.

By Order of the Minister of Health of the Republic of Bulgaria Kiril Ananiev dated June 23, additional measures to combat COVID-19 are introduced. The change calls on Bulgarian citizens to observe more strictly the current sanitary and hygienic norms in order to limit the spread of the virus to a minimum. Protective masks in indoor public places are mandatory.

All indoor public events will be organized when the capacity of the halls is up to 50% full. This applies to nightclubs, cinemas, theaters, sports venues, which has become clear from the Order of Minister Ananiev. All these sites continue their work. The control over the implementation of these and other anti-epidemic measures on the obligatory observance of social distance and disinfection is strengthened. All this is aimed at preserving the health of Bulgarian citizens and visitors from other countries and does not limit their travel rights. The active summer season in Bulgaria starts on July 1, 2020.
