Minister of Tourism Miroslav Borshosh awarded the elite of the world snowboarding during the World Cup in Bansko. Minister Borsosz presented the prize to the winner of the parallel giant slalom, the German Ramona Hofmeister. The top three is completed by Tsubaki Miki and Alexandra Kroll-Wallace.

Minister Borshosh emphasized that the holding of such large-scale sport events is a strategic investment in the promotion of Bulgaria as a global winter destination. "Bansko's hosting showed the best of Bulgarian ski tourism - traditional hospitality, excellent accommodation facilities, world-class ski slopes and facilities. It is such events that place us among the leading winter resorts in Europe and the world," added the Tourism Minister.

The Snowboard World Cup in Bansko gathered over 100 competitors from 19 countries, demonstrating the global importance of the event and the high level of organization in Bulgaria. In the 2023/2024 season, the World Cup attracted a viewership of 446 million people in over 20 countries - testament to the huge interest in the sport. The races from Bansko were broadcast in real time and via live streaming on channels such as Eurosport, covering markets across Europe and Asia, including Austria, Germany, the UK, Poland and the Nordic countries.

Sporting events of this scale not only promote Bansko on the international stage, but also stimulate the local economy. The Ministry of Tourism has continued to support World Cup and European Cup events over the past 14 years to establish Bulgaria as a preferred winter destination.
