DARA will participate in a campaign by the Ministry of Tourism to present Bulgaria to the world
Minister Ilin Dimitrov: Our country needs its celebrities to help millions of people learn about its history and beauty
The winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 2026, DARA, accepted the invitation of the Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ilin Dimitrov, to participate in a large-scale campaign to present Bulgaria to the world. The meeting was also attended by the Director General of Bulgarian National Television, Milena Milotinova, who is tasked with organizing the next edition of Eurovision in Bulgaria.
The Ministry of Tourism's project envisages the production of videos and promotional materials featuring well-known Bulgarians—artists, athletes, scientists, young talents, and high achievers—who can speak about our country in a personal and compelling way.
DARA pointed to her hometown of Varna as the place she feels most connected to. She shared that she is proud of the sights of the seaside capital, such as the Varna Chalcolithic Necropolis (the oldest processed gold in the world), the natural phenomenon "Pobiti Kamani", Aladzha Monastery, the Roman Baths, etc.
"My favorite subject in school was history. It is important to me that the message to the audience be personal. When a person talks about a place that they have truly felt, then it reaches people much more strongly," DARA said.
She also shared her emotions from last year's visit to the Belogradchik Rocks, which symbolize the beauty of Bulgaria for her.
According to the Director General of BNT, Milena Milotinova, our country has an extremely strong identity as an ancient state that gave rise to one of the most widespread scripts, and this story must be presented to the world. Eurovision is a global show that creates a year-round campaign for the host country. With a person like DARA, we will increase interest in Bulgaria.
