Klisurski monastery "St. Petka"

Klisurski monastery "St. Petka" is located northwest of Bankya a few kilometers along an asphalt road, on a high place with a wonderful view of the Sofia field and Vitosha mountain. Most likely, the monastery was established during the Ottoman period, but the rise of the monastery began in 1954 with the settling of the schema-abbess Maria (Dohtorova) one of the hidden spiritual pearls of Sofia's Svetogorie. A new church was built. In the 1990s the modern expansion and development of the monastery started. It  has been experiencing a new spiritual ascent in the last few years.
