Minister Ilin Dimitrov: "We are preparing new initiatives for more tourists from Romania throughout the year"

"Romania is one of the most important markets for Bulgarian tourism. When we have such great interest from Romanian tourists, we must work not only for more trips, but also for a higher quality of the offer," the Minister of Tourism Dr. Ilin Dimitrov said during a meeting with the Ambassador of Romania to Bulgaria H.E. Brânduşa Predescu.

Specific initiatives for more active cooperation between the tourism industry of the two countries, better presentation of Bulgarian destinations and promotion of travel during all seasons were discussed. Last year, Bulgaria welcomed nearly 1.4 million visitors from Romania, who choose our country not only for summer vacation, but also for short weekend trips, cultural tourism, SPA and balneotherapy.

Ambassador Brânduşa Predescu highly praised the new strategy of the Ministry of Tourism for the Romanian market. According to her, the messages set out meet the expectations of Romanians and have the potential to present Bulgaria in an even more convincing way. She noted that our country is already a well-known and preferred destination for Romanian tourists throughout the year, and along with the high interest, the ratio between the price and quality of the tourist service is becoming increasingly important.

The proposal to appoint a tourism attaché to Bucharest was also discussed. This is expected to strengthen Bulgaria's presence on the Romanian market, support the development of partnerships with the tourism industry, and contribute to the more effective promotion of our country as a year-round tourist destination.

As a next step, Minister Dimitrov proposed organizing a B2B forum with the participation of tour operators from Bulgaria and Romania. The goal is to create new partnerships, to more successfully present Bulgarian tourism products and to develop joint offers for short trips, SPA and wellness tourism, cultural routes and year-round visits.

The Ministry of Tourism also distinguished Constantinescu for his contribution to promoting Bulgaria in Romania. The diploma was presented by Deputy Minister Prof. Mariela Modeva in recognition of the long-term work of the Travel Planner platform to present our country to the Romanian public. "We highly appreciate your efforts over the years and your consistent work to present Bulgaria to the Romanian audience. It is important for us to hear the opinions and suggestions of partners who know the market and have direct contact with tourists," Prof. Modeva said at the award ceremony. Sebastian Constantinescu emphasized that Bulgaria remains a top destination for Travel Planner, noting that the platform features over 1,000 articles about our country and reaches millions of users annually.
