Yambol is hosting the Dragon Boat Festival this weekend

Deputy Minister of Tourism Prof. Mariela Modeva delivered a speech at the opening of the spectacular event, alongside the Chinese Ambassador, Dai Qingli. 

"This remarkable Chinese tradition, inscribed on the UNESCO list, carries universal messages of unity, cooperation and solidarity. It offers us the opportunity to move forward as a team, to build bridges, to get to know one another better and to understand one another,” said Prof. Modeva.

The organizers of the festival are the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in Bulgaria and the Municipality of Yambol.

The Chinese tradition is gaining popularity in our country. During the two holiday days, everyone can join in the free dragon boat demonstrations on the Tundzha River. The program includes performances of martial arts and other sports disciplines, a Chinese car show, a farm and craft exhibition, and a musical program.
