Ministry of Tourism focuses on mountain destinations during the summer tourist season

06 June 2025
The second big concert, this time in Chepelare, is part of the Ministry of Tourism's initiatives to promote domestic tourism during the summer season.

On June 27 (Friday), Chepelare will become the scene of a real feast for the senses. At 6 p.m., an open-air event for the general public will begin on Olympic Square, combining the magic of the Rhodopes, the richness of the local cuisine, and inspiring Bulgarian music. The festival will begin with a presentation and tasting of authentic Rhodope dishes prepared by local master chefs. Guests will be able to sample flavours passed down through generations.  This will be followed by the highlight of the festival—an open-air concert where music will take center stage.

The beloved Stefan Valdobrev will take the stage with the musicians from The Usual Suspects. They will perform their iconic songs, including "Svoboden" (Free), which was first performed on stage in Pomorie and is already shaping up to be the new summer hit. "Svoboden" is the lead single from his upcoming album "Acoustics of Bulgaria,” and the Ministry of Tourism announced the start of the summer tourist season, recognizing in this song a message for everyone who is looking for their place in Bulgaria to escape from everyday life and recharge their batteries in the mountains and at the sea. TRIGAIDA will bring their unique mix of folk and electronic sounds, creating a magical atmosphere under the open sky.

Parallel to the festival, from June 26 to 28, Chepelare will host the Second National Scientific Conference on Climate Therapy, "The Role of Climate Therapy Resorts for Health – the Example of Pamporovo." The aim of the conference is to highlight the potential of the Pamporovo resort complex and the region in the application of climate therapy and to provide a new, modern perspective on the destination through in-depth research on the topic.

"After successfully opening the summer tourist season in Pomorie with a focus on seaside tourism, we are now turning our attention to the advantages of the mountains, which offer coolness and a variety of experiences during the warm months of the year. Chepelare and Pamporovo are excellent examples of how mountain tourism can be combined with traditions, culture, and healthcare. Events such as this concert and the conference on climate therapy demonstrate the rich potential of the region and contribute to the sustainable development of tourism in Bulgaria. I invite everyone to enjoy this unique mountain summer in the heart of the Rhodopes," emphasized Minister Miroslav Borshosh.

The concert on June 27 is free of charge and is an invitation to all—guests and locals alike—to experience an unforgettable summer evening event. The event is organized by the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Bulgaria and the Municipality of Chepelare.

Come to Chepelare – a town with an Olympic character, where nature, tradition, and contemporary cultural expression come together in an inimitable way!
