The Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ilin Dimitrov, participated in the solemn celebration of the 60th anniversary of the National Movement "Discover Bulgaria - 100 National Tourist Sites", which took place in the Zheravna Architectural and Historical Reserve on July 25 and 26. Representatives of tourism companies and tourism enthusiasts from all over the country took part in the celebration.
"Over 10 million people have joined the movement since its inception. You are an example of how nature is protected and Bulgarian roots are respected," Minister Dimitrov said.
He pointed out that the initiative plays a key role in promoting domestic tourism and building a lasting connection between people, nature and the cultural and historical heritage of Bulgaria.
During the ceremony, Minister Dimitrov awarded an honorary diploma to the Chairman of the Bulgarian Tourist Union Ventsislav Venev for his contribution to the development of Bulgarian tourism. For his part, Venev presented the Ministry of Tourism with a commemorative plaque as a token of gratitude for its support for the initiative.
The national movement, founded six decades ago, continues to encourage Bulgarians to discover the country's riches. Today, the traditional booklet and stamps exist alongside the digital application, but the spirit of the initiative remains unchanged - to encourage people to get to know and love Bulgaria.
