The Minister of Tourism, Dr. Ilin Dimitrov, distinguished the representatives of the nine Bulgarian hotels included in the MICHELIN Guide Hotels for their high professionalism, impeccable quality of services and contribution to strengthening the authority of destination Bulgaria.
"I am proud that Bulgaria has nine hotels in the Michelin selection, four of which have been awarded the MICHELIN Key." This success was achieved thanks to your work, without interference and support from the state, and that is why it is so valuable. "Good examples must be shown, and success must not remain anonymous," Minister Dimitrov said.
The MICHELIN Guide Hotels include Junó Hotel Sofia, InterContinental Sofia, Kashmir Wellness & Spa Hotel in Velingrad, AYA Estate Relais & Châteaux near Melnik, Sense Hotel Sofia, Oborishte 63, The Art Boutique Hotel, Kempinski Hotel Grand Arena Bansko, Thracian Cliffs Golf & Beach Resort and Blu Bay Hotel Sozopol. The first four hotels were also awarded a MICHELIN Key.
Hotel representatives indicated that the selection is carried out independently, without prior notification of the inspectors' visits. They emphasized that Michelin distinguishes places with their own character, consistent quality, high level of service and a clear connection to the destination.
"We need to tell the stories of these hotels and show what's behind their success. This way, we can encourage more representatives of the sector to invest in quality, character and experience and increase the number of Bulgarian sites recognized at the global level," the Minister added.
Hoteliers emphasized the need for more active work with municipalities, the tourism industry, and the media to promote the quality hotel product. The Ministry of Tourism will use its communication channels and upcoming international events to draw greater attention to the awarded hotels and the destinations they represent.
