Minister - Dr. Ilin Dimitrov

Dr. Ilin Dimitrov is an expert with extensive experience in tourism, academia, and public administration. Between 2022 and 2023, he served as Minister of Tourism in two caretaker governments. From 2023 to 2026, he was Secretary for Tourism, Culture, Spirituality, and Education to President Rumen Radev. Prior to that, he was a Member of Parliament in the 47th National Assembly and Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Tourism.

His professional background also includes serving as Chairman of the Varna Tourism Chamber from 2020 to 2022, where he actively worked toward the development of the tourism sector and the regional economy. He is currently a lecturer at the University of Economics – Varna, combining his practical experience in business and management with academic and research activities in the field of tourism and sustainable economic policies.

He graduated from the College of Tourism – Varna, Varna University of Management, and D. A. Tsenov Academy of Economics – Svishtov with degrees in Marketing and Management, Business Administration, and Corporate Management and Controlling. He obtained a PhD in Tourism from University of Economics – Varna.

He is fluent in English, German, and Russian.
