Minister Baltova met with the Secretary-General of the UN World Tourism Organization (WTO)

Taleb Rifai during the International ITB Exhibition in Berlin. They discussed the place of Bulgaria as a tourist destination in national, regional and global terms.

They defined human resources as one of the main challenges in tourism.

Minister Baltova focused on the need of efficient measures to ensure human resources for the successful and high-quality development of tourism in Bulgaria. Taleb Rifai added that this was emerging as a global problem for the sector. They agreed on cooperation and joint actions in the field.

The World Tourism Organization expects a global growth in tourists by 3-4% compared with the last year’s 1.24 billion tourists.
